Thank you for posting this article because it is completely true. I would love to see the day when "minorities", of all backgrounds, voluntarily choose to make their health their top priority. Shouldn't it be?

P.S. What's with the women sitting down? lol Isn't that the exact opposite of the message you're trying to portray?

Kudos anyway for continuing this necessary dialogue!

There really are no excuses to working out. I work full-time, go to school full-time, help my mother out with my sister and brother, and still find time to workout. Working out allows me to clear my mind, become more focused on my health and lifestyle. Thank you for the motivation. This is a great article.

"The turning point in the process of growing up is when you discover the core of strength within you that survives all hurt." -Max Lerner

Beverly is a great example of, "there are no excuses". She has accomplished and found a way to live a lifestyle that is healthy, motivating, and wonderful to pass on to her boys. She has taken steps to get to where she is and these are all important. I've learned from her that you DO have to surround yourself with those who share the same goals. I'm about to have a baby and I have more motivation and hope that I CAN shed my pregnancy weight and get back to a healthy lifestyle again. Before I was pregnant I hadn't eaten fast food in years. Being pregnant, I've eaten it too much. :( I have put my fryer away and have been grilling g much more, but find strength through Beverly and those around me to get back right so that I can be a good role model for my son. His dad is in the gym everyday, so I can't get left behind. Ha-ha!
